This diploma thesis analyzes legislation governing consumer credit. In the recent past, a notable development has occurred in this particular area of consumer protection, especially in the field of European legislation. This development has also been reflected in the Czech legal system due to the necessity of transposing European directives. This diploma thesis describes the development of consumer credit legislation at European level starting with Directive 87/102/EHS and also by the Consumer Credit Directive and the Mortgage Credit Directive, which is the last legislative act of the Union legislator in this area and in the domestic legal system starting with Act 321/2001, following with Act 145/2010 and finishing with the current legislation by the Consumer Credit Act. The Consumer Credit Act contains a comprehensive regulation of the activities of providing and mediating consumer credit, regulation of entities operating on the consumer credit market as well as rights and obligations in the provision and mediation of consumer credit. Consumer credit and consumer protection

The theme of this diploma thesis is Consumer credit and consumer protection. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the new Consumer Credit Act that brings substantial changes to the provision of consumer and mortgage credit. Author compares new act with the previous legislation and describes the development in past years. The diploma thesis compares selected bank and non-bank providers of consumer credit and evaluates the parameters of mortgage credit of these institutions. In the conclusion the results are summarised, and there is stated the recommendation for the consumer. The last part outlines the recommendations concerning chances to decrease the household indebtedness and increase the consumer protection on the consumer credit market.
Analysis of consumer credit in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the development of the consumer credit market in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is dedicated to characteristics of consumer credit, its anchoring in the Czech legislation, its types, subjects in the consumer credit market and the credit approval process. The second part analyses the statistical data, shows the development of the consumer credit market and the development of the indebtedness of Czech households. The end of thesis contains an estimate of probable future development of this part of market.

The diploma thesis analyzes the proposed legislation governing the consumer credit. This area of consumer protection is currently undergoing vast evolution throughout the member countries of the European Union due to the obligation to implement the Mortgage Credit Directive 2014/17/EU. The Government of the Czech Republic utilized the legislative opportunity to propose a new act on consumer credit which would not only implement the Mortgage Credit Directive, but also include the regulation under the Consumer Credit Directive 2008/48/ES to provide a new framework encompassing all credit provision and credit intermediation activities and relevant rights and obligations. In addition to the actual examination and description of the proposed legislation, the diploma thesis aims to highlight and evaluate the most significant issues which might cause theoretical or practical interpretation difficulties or in respect of which some differing opinions regarding their interpretation could be met. Private distrainor in terms of Czech law

This thesis deals with the institute of private distrainor in terms of its position in the Czech legal order. It outlines the history of enforcement process and discusses the powers of the private distrainors in accordance with the relevant laws. The theoretical part describes the functioning of various mechanisms in the enforcement proceedings, with an emphasis on the most common types of acts. In the analytical part it focuses on the changes made in 2015 and further analyzes prepared or discussed changes in enforcement proceedings. Specific problems closely connected with the institute of private bailiff are described and at the same time there are suggested possible solutions to these problems.
The analysis of the APR indicator on the consumer credit

This thesis deals with the analysis of the annual percentage rate (APR) and other key parameters of the consumer credit with regard to observance of the legal rules by major providers of the consumer credit on the Czech credit market. The first part deals with the economic implications of the consumer credit. It focuses mainly on the analysis of the indebtedness of Czech households on the consumer credit market. The second part deals with the legal implications of consumer credit, mainly legal requirements that are imposed on providers of the consumer credit. The third part provides the analysis of the APR indicator on the consumer credit and on the short-term loans. On the basis of the defined consumer credit models is provided the comparison of the APR for each credit both in terms of its compliance with the current legislation and in terms of the provider of the consumer credit. The final part deals with the specific recommendations for the financial literacy development and for the future legislative development.

This bachelor thesis deals with consumer credits. It aims to familiarize potential applicant for the consumer credit with fundamental information and facts which are necessary for orientation in these broad problems. At the beginning, new law, which came into force in January 2011, is analyzed in detail. That is followed by an introduction of methods of classification of consumer credits with emphasis on mutual differences between particular types. Principal part focuses on methods of assessing and comparison of advantages of consumer credits by means of interest rate, rate of increase and annual percentage rate of costs. Finally, particular bank and non-bank credit offers are compared by using above mentioned tools of evaluation of the profitability of credits.
